Rhythm of Chaos

"Through this series of monoprints I am attempting to find a sense of order through the layering of seemingly random marks and images.

"Responding fluidly to the ink and paint, I develop imagery based on gesture, colour and line. Some works also incorporate relief prints made using vintage commercial printing blocks (many used in advertising) that add an additional layer of imagery that asserts itself as a counterpoint to the rhythm and chaos I seek to create."

Circles and Ladders

"In this current body of work , I am using mass produced CDs and DVDs as my printing plate. These simple plastic discs have quickly become a universal format for information storage. The power of the circle — coupled with its scale and recognizable shape — provides me with a background on which to layer visual ideas over the unseen digital information. The information stored on these discs, whether it be sound, image, data or software, becomes the source of inspiration for the images I create.

"I am intrigued by the idea of translating the invisible digital information into a form that is visual, but more importantly, sensual."

Paths, Patterns, Places
A exhibition of
gardens and artists

"Originally intrigued by the notion of creating a contemporary scarecrow, Tim's sculptures and prints, while referencing the human form, often oscillate between the imagery of primitive tools and weaponry."
