the Opening
Wow, the opening at Sarah Beveridge Contemporary Art on Oct 8 was an amazing success. Lost count of how many people came through, saw a lot of old friends and made some new ones. The response to the new work was very favourable and I was surprised to see exactly which pieces attracted which people. Much to my surpise the large concrete sculptures seem to garner much attention, not to say the intaglio monoprints didn't, I think the concrete works are newer to most of my patrons. I am always humbled when someone decides to purchase my work and during the opening, several new customers believed in my work enough to want to live with them, so a special thanks them. As ususal, Sarah did a wonderful job of making everyone feel welcome and she made sure to keep me circulating and get a chance to talk to most. Thanks to everyone who came and made it a great day.

countdown to Simple Pleasures.....
Only a few days left until I set up the exhibition at Sarah's, and I am feeling a little stressed, wanting to put the finishing details on the concrete sculptures and needing to frame all the works that were selected. I feel really excited having visited Sarah - selecting the prints and getting a glimpse of what they will look like in the space......it will all come together soon.

new printmaking
Have just spent the last two days locked up in my studio making etched monotypes with chine colle, it has been heaven. Hopefully some of this work will be in the upcoming exhibtion at Sarah Beveridge Contemporary Art. I currently have paper soaking, so I am looking forward to a third day of nothing but printmaking.....

framing the pixeled canvas
tim and i got together over a guinness at cellarman's yesterday and finalized the plans for the new site.
i've been working at it much of the day. although it's nothing like seeing it in person, even on the web his art carries a lot of power.
